Joe Lortie is the full time chaplain for University Christian Fellowship at the University of Miami and has worked with students for over 20 years. As a veteran campus pastor, Joe helped to start Chi Alpha groups at Boston University, the University of Mass. Amherst, and Rutgers University.
Joe holds degrees in Education, Psychology/Counseling, and Biblical Studies and is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the State of Florida. He has been a pastor, director of a Mental Health Facility, director of a Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Facility, and a director of a Domestic Violence Facility.
Joe is married to Donna, an Intensive Care Unit Nurse, and they have three children, Joshua and Jessica (both graduates from UM) and Jason (a current student at Ole Miss). They all play ice hockey.
Joe enjoys playing ping pong, chess, raquet ball, fishing, and playing a 12 string guitar.
